"You Are In The Driver's Seat"
My coaching honors your own exploration of who you are and acknowledges that you are the expert on your own life, that you are in the driver’s seat, and that I’m riding to support your navigation, along a part of your journey. As a coach, I help create a safe and courageous space for you to tap into your own vision for life and the choices you make. We step over any limitations and walls, clarify and align this vision with concrete solutions based on what you want to achieve. I support you to live by your core values, be your essential true self, and accomplish your most important goals. So, in this way, we each experience our unique expertise. You hold your unique gifts and passions you were born with and developed. You have the answers inside of you to confront and solve the challenges that you face. I am the expert on the coaching process. I support you to realize this potential, encouraging self-discovery, eliciting your own solutions and strategies, and holding you responsible and accountable to unlock this potential. As far as the process, I usually meet with my clients for one hour sessions weekly or bi-weekly for a period of 4 weeks to 12 weeks to 6 months at a time. Most of my coaching is by phone, but I also meet clients at my office in Acton, MA or by video conference.
We begin the session with a review of steps taken to reach one's goals and more importantly what was learned from this. My job is to hold my clients accountable for their commitments to themselves, and I invite each client to let me know how best to do this. I ask the client what topic they'd like coaching on and ask them to bring a topic to coaching. We spend the middle part of the session exploring this topic. I ask many different what and how questions about the big questions in his or her life. I listen for themes, tone, mood, and what is not said. I notice and wonder aloud about the client's goals and the alignment or misalignment between goals and values and behaviors. Toward the end of the session, I will make a request or leave the client with an inquiry. Sometimes, if I believe the client is ready, I will challenge the client to something BIG! And they can say yes or renegotiate with me with something different. |
