ABOUT MICHELLE
Hello! I grew up in St. Louis, MO, until I left college for Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT in August 1990. I've been fascinated by psychology since high school, but didn't have the opportunity to take classes until college. Graduating with a major in psychology, I worked with teen girls and later teen and young adult parents until I started social work school at Boston University in the fall of 1996. I wanted to work directly with teens and adults, but also have an impact on communities, so I did a dual MSW-MPH program, which blended these two dimensions. I worked in the field of violence prevention and intervention for 5 years, before becoming a mother. I was fortunate to be able to take a break with my two young daughters for several years, while exploring some work at MA Audubon and Hosteling International, and actively leading 2 Girl Scout troops. I began teaching Career Exploration classes at Danny's Place Youth Services in Acton in 2014 and expanded to organizing and coaching high school students in their first career internships in 2015.

Looking to expand my skills in higher education, I began interning at Northeastern University's Career Center in August 2015 because I wanted to gain practical hands on career counseling experience and I was eager to work with college and grad students deciding on coop positions, as well as work with students in a range of disciplines and from a range of backgrounds.
Northeastern has a well-established and highly respected career counseling internship program with extensive training and weekly supervision. The Career Center itself has been ranked as #1 or #2 in the U.S. for college career centers since 2011. I just left there in January of 2017, after having started my own coaching practice in mid-2016. I completed and became certified from 2 professional coach programs in September 2017, CTI's Co-Active Coaching program and Gallup's Strengths Coaching program, and became an ICF (International Coaching Federation) Associate Certified Coach in early 2018.
